This saying kept crossing my mind during my last dance recital. Dance for me has, very literally, been my entire life since I was four years old, so it has definitely been a very good thing for me. Not only had my studio supported me and watched me grow, but I also had the privilege to teach my own classes and grow as a leader. This last recital was a major “wake up” moment because it finally sunk in that things like these, true and honest blessings, can NEVER be taken for granted. It also hit me as I was watching my class of 4-6 year olds that if you try and work for something you love, not only will you yourself succeed, but you will help others succeed, no matter if it is on purpose or not. As I walked out on stage for the final bow, I turned around to look at all of the little dancers and they were all crying, like the 3 other seniors and me. To some, dance is just a form of entertainment, but to me, it is a passion, a mastery, and most of all, a family.

Although this chapter has ended, I’m extremely excited to be a member of the Raven Dance Team at Benedictine College. Keep a look out for some updates next year on my new dance adventure!
